They ARE that tame when young.

My son brought one home from the zoo he worked at. (Young animals had to be tended to overnight.)

Some hunters came across it, took it to the zoo. Don't know the age but it was about a large as a German shepherd.

One night it was in the wild. The next night it was in our living room. It liked to lick our fingers.
