This and the sidewalk is what I have been working on for the last few days, about 12 hours' worth. Trying to get the right affect for mid-December with the snow depth and drift. I am currently waiting on the light poles for this time frame, and I have the light system for them. I am really enjoying doing this type of detail work, abet a labor of love. Gent's, at time I feel like a kid again and it is a wonderful feeling to have.

Well: it's a little scary, but I think I am becoming my SIL's husband. The old guy buys stuff. His wife has to send it back to Amazon. So, I am regenerating my 1960's shop. Back when sixteen yr. olds could use band saws. I built stuff back then (real easy stuff). Then I went to work "for the man", as they say, or used to say. Now I want to be able to work with wood again.
Going overboard: I've bought a plainer, a jointer, and a miter saw. I used a miter saw I borrowed from a friend and loved it. I had a jointer once. It was cool and I got rid of it because I only used it once a year.
There are loads of cool tools available these days. Some work and some are jokes. Don't buy a Harbor Freight wood working bench unless you want to start a renovation right off. I did, and I can handle it. Stuff that is off by a couple th's are kind of hard to decifer. You know something is wrong, but what? Of course, I figured it out, but dang. Cheap Chinese crap. Not blaming the chinks: they evidently don't have nice trees, but they sure can joint.

Is it hard to find HO sized people and cars for your landscapes?

I think Matchbook/Hotwheel cars are 1:64 scale while the HO trains are 1:87 scale.

I guess the hobby train shops have them?

I haven't really started to look yet. My time from is from 1935-1960 give or take a few years. I hope to find some that are shoveling snow for the front of the city building. While I have been shoveling the path's it has brought back memories of 60+ years ago when I was a kid. I use to take our shovel out and try to earn some coin of the realm. Had to avoid the high school kids and going onto their "tuff" and have major problems. There was one punk [who later went to prison] who would make life hard for us.
11th street hill was pretty steep and on both sides was a deep drainage ditch with mud and cattails. This punk was trying to impress some girl and he swiped one of the sleds. This sled had a right front bent rudder and to keep it straight you had to lean left to steer. He didn't know it and went directly into the worst part; we ran and got the sled then took off. He said words I never heard, and the girl ran away too!
Funny what and when memories can come back.

This church is Methodist and is set in one of my villages, I just added the lights and am in the process of running the bus wires to light the building. #2 is where I am "finished" with the sidewalk and the snow.
