What could you use to destroy a killer Robot ? ...

I prefer the old description of these things plus it
conjures up pictures for me of them carrying off
those scantily clad Damsels featured in the pulp
fiction stories of the 30s and 40s.
But if these things went out of control what could
we use for defence ? All I can think of is glass balls
filled with acid. Water, bullets ? Doubtful.
Hurry up with the ideas, time's getting short.

M-1 Garand loaded with some nice M-2 AP. There is very little in a glorified tin can that one cannot thoroughly completely screw up with a M-1 Garand ... and nice M-2 AP. Sincerely. bruce.

I bought a Bushmaster BA50 years ago that I never got around to shooting. If I had any concern about stopping a robot this is what I would pull out and use.

there were several models, some had payload ability,

some were for hazardous inspections, (like radiation etc)

there are some out there IIRC that are armed

On the serious side of the question, what happens when the assembly line is robotic making these same robots? If the AI can progress on it's own to advance itself as already happened, I understand one of them managed to learn a different language it was not programed to learn. You have to ask, why did it pick that language? From what I understand it was an obscure language not commonly spoken. If programed to protect itself from common mishaps, could it not go further to protect itself from destruction. How? Maybe a laser as a weapon system it designed to protect itself?

Just remember, anything is possible. If we as humans can come up with ideas, can a machine become more "intelligent" than the creator of the machine. Remember the movie: The Day the Earth Stood Still. The robot I believe was called "Gort."

AI is the new Bigfoot. If a robot "learned" a language on it's own you can bet there was a nerd behind it. Maybe he doesn't work there anymore but no doubt he has a brain.

It is a little creeapy. I know I'm not the only one who turns on the computer and gets offers to buy stuff that I looked at yesterday on Craigslist. That's AI.
I get auto fill when I type. That's helpful since I'm old and diminished(huh? diminished has to i's). That's AI.
It speeds things up. Lord knows we are so busy.
