    Question about V model S&W .38s?

    My V model .38 spc 274516 wears smooth walnut handles. Is there any way to determine if they are original or have been replaced?

    Note there is no S near the hammer.

      I believe the early Victory Model grips were numbered to the gun, but don't know about the later guns with the V serial number prefix.
