    The Battleship New Jersey - escapes ...

    Now that's my idea of a warship. Those huge 16" guns
    and her huge size make her an awsome sight. I saw her
    come into San Francisco Bay back in the mid sixties.
    Pennants flying, fireboats squirting, plus everybody who
    owned a boat was out there. It was quite a spectacle.
    Unfortunately she won't be free for long.

    She was awesome, Was.
    Unfortunately air power doomed the big BattleWagons. As the Japanese & Germans can confirm.
    But, We still shouldn't forget them.

      Back in the mid 60's, I toured the North Carolina battleship. Very intersting!

        She was deployed to Viet Nam. My brigade was the first to shoot her "from the ground."
