    >40-82 Winchester.

M y brother who died in July left some nice guns -- including a Model 95 SADDLE RING CARBINE in .40--82 Winchester. His widow says it's going to me.

Anybody got any good smokeless loads for this cartridge?

My Dad left us one, a 30 Govt (30-40 Krag). I think Teddy Roosevelt had one in .405. I didn't know they were made in 40-82. You sure that isn't 40-72?

Black Powder is more fun, and it's more gentle.

This is loaded ammunition for firearms chambered in 40-72 Winchester in rifles suitable for use with smokeless powder. Loaded with a lead 320 grain bullet (item# 407320) and Jamison brass #Jam4072win when available or our reformed cases (item# 4072Win). NOTE: Be sure you have a physical shipping address on your order as UPS or FedEx will not deliver to a P.O. Box. No returns on ammo.

40-82 was chambered in the Model 1886.

            Vern,

look up trail boss or some of the other black powder substitutes,
            no corrosion to worry about,

a member here I have bought from uses it in his cartridge guns (he shoots pre 1900 stuff) and loves it,
