    NASCAR getting into electrics

Not many NASCAR fans here I believe but it is news.

Part of the experience of a NASCAR race is hearing the engine roar, the rumble of each car’s approach and the zip when it whizzes past at more than 150 mph. NASCAR unveiled its first electric racecar Saturday in downtown Chicago, but it doesn’t thunder when the grand marshal says “drivers, start your engines.” The top motorsports series in North America partnered with Chevrolet, Ford, Toyota and electrification company ABB to demonstrate a high-performance electric vehicle and gauge fan interest in electric racing.

David Ragan knew he was in a different kind of race car from the minute he pulled out of the garage. "I learned how to drive a manual at probably the age of 6 or 7 years old on my grandfather's tractor and this EV car, you put it in reverse, it's a ...

It accelerates twice as fast and stops quickly but can't take the curves quite as fast due to the weight of the batteries. They claim there are no immediate plans to run electric for now.

The sounds are a big part of racing, from lumpy idle up to 9000 rpm. Can see much excitement watching silent cars go round and round.

    Chrysler's answer, you think?

I guess it will be a transition thing and people will forget over time.

For Dodge the time has already come. From what I hear and read the gas powered Charger and Challenger are already gone.

Biden's dream of all electric cars is just pure B.S.! No one wants to buy one, they are not affordable and China is paying Biden big bucks!

Kinda like we used to do as children with our bicycles and a playing card to mimic the sound of a reving motorcycle.

I've tried to watch E1 which is the electric version of F1 racing. No noise ruins it. Same for the electric Rally racing, just not right.

it will be very bad news if they have a crash due to the FIRES these batteries have. The I-15 from CA to NV was closed for like a day and half because a truck tipped over carrying those batteries and the fire and toxic fumes closed the road.
                It is on the web.
CAJON PASS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Early Friday morning, a vehicle fire involving a tractor-trailer on the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass resulted in significant traffic delays. The incident began around 4:52 AM, on July 26, 2024, north of the scales, and led to multiple lane closures and a SIG alert to …

Of the 500,000 EV charging stations promised by Biden we are already up to 8.
