RED, good to see you getting around enough to read and type again.

This "group" is shrinking. It is like all of the "old cars" guys (the cars, not the guys were old) are fading away. Just saw A Buick GS on hemmings for sale for only 22 grand. about 10 years ago, they were 70 grand. I have a 71 Skylark (350-4v, factory air, auto) and I'm selling it as I NEED the space in the garage and I am TOO OLD and tired to get up at 5 AM to do the threes "S's" in the morning to get to the auto show from 8 to 10. (that's all they do here...8 to 10).
anyone interested in the skylark, give me an email at cava3r4 AT gmail.kom (spelled that way for robots and A I bs)

Don't forget the slash & burn mass culling over at GunBoards after Vertical Scope acquired it.

I was just over to milsurps.com; it appears they have the same stagnation problem.

When CSP had a major problem years ago, they helped by letting the Maj., Swede, and Pat "share" into their platform. After CSP was ready to stand alone, there were some problems getting the divorce, but CSP did survive as Jouster 1, now Jouster 2.

If you check, both sites are set up simamarly, with it appears the same "table of contents". Don't know how to attract a younger crowd.

I'm still sitting in a corner booth, drinking coffee and people watching...

Yeah, every time I go to look something up I get the "This is an old thread" warning.

While I'm not happy about their problem it's good to know it's not just us.

I do talk it up among those shooters I know. I'll commit myself here, we've talked all around it, but I think the site needs to be redesigned less about the WWII wooden warriors and stuff, and more about fantastic plastic arms, M16 "type" guns, long range stuff, optics, etc. All stuff I don't care about, but remember, I'm old and sitting in the corner. Allen says to throw money around, but I don't have it.

From watching the responses here on the threads I monitor, there are people here that have mod'd on other forums, and website designers, very computer savvy folks.

There are a lot of new gun owners out there, some bought one because they are afraid, but only know generally how to use one.

We are competing with other more relevant forums for the more popular guns that are actively being bought and shot.

Ok folks, to borrow from Shakespere "Lay on McDuff and damned be he who cries hold, enough.."

                      welcome new guy TOM1911

re the forums, they are all suffering, even the mighty Gunboards is not as active as it once was , but that was a self inflicted wound, by the Canadian owners,

I was joking about throwing money around to attract young women but I guess you had no way of knowing what was in my mind a the time. It's not a good place to visit either.

As far as gaining young members and getting back old members who are still kicking, I'd say the first issue is the purchase of an upgrade or new host for this site to enable anyone and everyone to be able to log on. That problem is out of our control right now.

New members will still need to be restricted from the 2A/Political forum though because that is where the trolls show up and new members may show up just to troll.
