We never had to duck and cover in the hallway like that. Sometimes under the desk. Most of the times standing against the wall with the windows to our backs. Never made any sense to me. Especially since the school basement was a fallout shelter.

The only drills we had as school children were fire drills but thanks to JFK's politics a lot of people did build home bomb shelters.

Ah!!! Christmas!!! My favorite season of the year!!! This morning, hot buttered biscuits and strong "Death Wish" coffee for breakfast! About to begin a little "honey do" project for my wife. This afternoon, looks like things will warm up so maybe we can go for a nice walk down to the pond and back. She has informed me that our big meal of the day will be dinner this evening. Currently listening to "A Christmas Carol" w/ George C. Scott. Last night, 366 miles away but I enjoyed the Christmas eve service at Kingsland First Methodist Church where I was pastor till my retirement in 2023. Tomorrow everything gets going b/c my daughter/son-in-law and grandson get home!!! Happy! Happy! Happy! Merry Christmas to all of you!!! And to all of you a most happy New Year!!! Sincerely. bruce.
