    Thunderstorms in Feb

after a couple days in the 60's, then a gray day where it got colder in the afternoon than it was in the AM, a front came thru late last night/early this morning,
thundering and what not the shook the house, for what seemed to be a couple hours,

good amount of rain as well,

now chilly, in the low 40's , gray and the rain has stopped, so far

    that climate is always changing,

Wish it were here..in Phoenix. Y'day 80? at my house. Gave the dogs a bath. It's due to cool off again, but I wish God would water his parched earth.

We had an ice storm here last night. Everything was covered in a layer of ice. A good part of it was gone by 11 AM.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

          almost a repeat,

          sunny and low 60's yesterday

rain moved in with a front last night, this time just showers, no thunder, and might get 40 today,

went to the big local farmers market for eggs,
farm grown by a family a couple of counties south, and $5 a dozen, nice big brown eggs and always delicious

We had a couple of nice days (+30’s to 40) flanked by ice on either side.
            No thunder though.
Last nights ice wasn’t as bad as a few days ago.

Although heading towards my car I discovered (once again) that I can move very fast when there is no friction.
I didn’t moonwalk like Michael Jackson. Oh no.
It was an unchoreographed nightmare. A blend of Jerry Lewis, Peewee Herman, and a running dog on wet tile.
I didn’t take the spill. Drove home on my own instead of a ride to the ER.

            Happy Ending.

                If they did, so what?
If they were laughing at me, I would have laughed with them.

Similar situation a few years ago. People did see me.
Iced front porch, seven steps. All concrete. Caught me by surprise.
Off the porch and barely touched the nosing on the stair treads. Continued down the walkway until my outstretched leg touched the side walk.
Without hesitation I threw my arms out to the sides and yelled “SAFE!”.

A mix of laughter and concern. When asked if I was OK, I said I was fine except for the pain.
A few seconds later I realized I was only rattled and bumped. No problem.
A few more laughs as they tried to help me up on that slippery crap.

$5.00 a dozen, that is way too high. We go thru a dozen a day.

You can get shot in Chicago for less than that!

Mid 70's here this week. Lows in the 60's at night. Rain of course. Spraying weeds when I can. Picking up fallen tree limbs so I can mow again soon. We have a little winter left but already having to swat (tennis racket) the carpenter bee's.

called for 1-3 or 4-7 inches,

                              got 1
then bb sized sleet for an hour or so, then rain,
the cold freezing rain last night
                              and just rain now,

ice has trees and tree limbs snapping an falling,

power out here at the house (getset running, cell phone inet still works)
                              power off at my shop,

cell tower must be on backup, cause the phone does not say 5g and it is a bit slow, (or just could be demand)

and all will be well in a day or 2
