    Star 30M

No forum for Spanish handguns - and one really isn't needed - so here we go. Spotted one on gunborker - latest bid was quite low, so I jumped in for $205. I figure sure it would go for $300 - $350. Surprise! It went for $205. Finish isn't top shelf, but I'm more a function over form kind of guy. My take is that it was carried much and shot little since the bore is Exc ++.

My initial beef was the magazine safety. I could see it, but no clue how to remove it. My close friend in Hungary shot me a link to a Star-specific site with directions on removing mag safety from the 30 series. Easy-peasy! 15 minute job, and it runs great! Reading through the site, I noticed Star designed it around the S&W 59 magazine. Great! Gunborker prices for Star mags were pretty steep - S&W 59 mags - much more affordable! So I've got a couple of those coming.

I'm very happy with it! SW

That's a new one on me. About the only thing that looks like Star is the slide release. I only know my way around the much older Stars because Dad had a couple. One was in .32, and quite accurate. Yours is the first D/A I've seen.
Post up some targets when you get a chance!
    And welcome back!

IIRC Star redesigned for some military or police contracts, and updated the look,
only complaint I have heard of that model, and the Astra's of the same time period, was they were all a bit heavy

Oh, it's no sack of feathers, for sure! Ideally, I think it would carry best on a plate vest. Probably not a top choice for CCW. SW
