Drones continue to get higher tech all the time and I guess they should considering they and the newer aircraft are intended to replace piloted planes.

one of my customers is a trainer,
Marine, then reservist, not some kind of contractor that goes out with new guys and teaches them various bits and bobs about escape, capture, etc etc, told me yesterday he now has a drone to help train folks,
he is a certified drone pilot, as in another member of his group, and with thermal and IR, part of his job is to teach them now how to not be recognized by a drone,

told me some interesting stuff about IR and thermal, and the drones they use

seems battery and propellors are 2 of the things that go wrong, and what you want to take out if being monitored by one,

his comments was to hide as a best you could to keep the drone in the air and use battery, and when it returned home due to the battery, track it, and kill the operator
or run it thru as much cover as you can to kill the props and make it drop,

I follow the war in Ukraine closely and have seen a lot of new stuff drone-wise. Like AI guidance and fiber optic. You'd need a mile of optical fiber to guide well, but it's impossible to jam. AI guidance seems to be mostly used in long range stuff - like their flamingo cruise missiles hitting refineries and ammo dumps thousands of kilometers from Ukraine.

A couple years ago here, there was public concern over drone swarms in remote areas. Turns out the air force at Warren AFB in Cheyenne was doing a lot of drone swarm management testing. I saw one flock of at least a dozen zipping around - and not in unison. It would no doubt curl the little hair I have remaining to even get hints of drone capability.

In modern warfare, drone have become as essential as rifles. SW

Yet, those drones will never replace the infantryman on the ground.

Read an article this morning about a recent drone development in Ukraine - a drone submarine with an 11,000 pound warhead. I doubt the Kirch bridge in Crimea will be around much longer.

our HOA is flying drones over our back yards to make sure we are in "compliance" with any architectural rules !!

friend was telling me today his bud had a nice new drone with a thermal cam mounted,
he said it was pretty interesting to see what it saw when flying over a patch of woods,
and the game wardens told them not to used them in season

I know the HOA have to have rules and enforce them to keep subdivisions neat and in compliance but spying over a privacy fence is like spying into your home. If clutter or whatever can't be seen due to a privacy fence then so be it. If it's something that smokes real bad or makes noise then it would be known about w/o any drones.
