My F-150 has 3 large mirrors, backup sensors and a camera (which didn't work that day). I backed into a Mazda Miata w/o even knowing about it. I have a bed cover so some visibility is blocked. I rely on the mirrors and sensors (and the camera when it works).

The bitchy lady must have been pulled up halfway under my truck before I backed up (at a stop light) plus her car was so tiny the sensors did not pick up anything and they will sense a small dog and even tall grass.

Another option I am learning to is a used Ram 4x4, which are plentiful in our area. Before I sign on the doted line, my mechanic does a good examination. Costs me $100 but well worth error avoidance.
