It's Coming!

Finally got the tree up and decorated last night.
Nikkor 50mm f 1.4 A/I-s at f 5.6, ISO 125, and 2.5 seconds on the D-810 with the electronic shutter release cable on the big Manfrotto tri-pod.



250% crop of image center from the image above. This old manual focus lens sure knows how to resolve!

Also pulled the 16 lb store bought turk from the freezer. It will thaw in the fridge until the early morning of the 25th.

I'll say it a bit early, but still close enough....

Those image crops are a continual source of amazement for me.
That rectangular reflection shows me behind the tripod, about 12 feet from the tree, obviously not keeping very still.
I have a great time trying though.
