Seen for my first time a non-Marlin made 39-M at a local shop, yesterday.
Made and sold by Chiappa as their LA-322. ???
Has Ruger let the Marlin patents go? Definitely the 39 style receiver with the same t/d screw ,side ejecting flat bolt, and a few other things. Gone is the gold trigger and black American walnut stock. The stock of the Chiappa is still wood, but definitely not what Marlin would have selected. If it's walnut, it's sure very straight grained.
Anyone know anything about this?
