    "instructional " rifle ??

I have acquired a type 38 rifle, Jinsen arsenal, 2 digit serial # without prefix. Very good condition, shiny bore, well made rifle. Instead of Mum it has the symbol for Instruction,( my wife can read Chinese). I know it is not a cheaply made training rifle. Just what were the instructional rifles, and does anyone have an idea of value and when it was made. I will be setting up at a Gun Show this weekend but not going to price this till I have more info. One way to tell a cast reciever, the tang is part of the reciever instead of a seperate piece

Reciever is forged, nicely polished bolt.

Sounds like you have a "to teach" or "for education" marked receiver Jinsen T-38 rifle. Is the dust cover also with the rifle? If so, the Kanji on the dust cover reads "Loading of live ammunition prohibited". There were approximately 400 of these produced before the 30th series rifles started production. A fairly scarce rifle.
