They show up on ebay, and I think Numrich has them. But the first thing you need to know is what is the arsenal and series of the rifle. The stocks and handguards changed during the four years the type 99 was made. Unlike rifles from other countries, one size does not fit all.

They are very common and can be found at most any gun show. At least here in MI. Except for some imported from China in the 90's (very well used, poor condition) they are all bring backs and 90% will have the crest ground off. One with the crest will bring a fairly large premium.

Take back above answer----I misread question, thought he was asking about a rifle, complete!

Good question as I'm toying at bringing one of my T-99s (a Nagoya very early Series 7) back from sporter hell.

Maybe, an even better question would be how do I identify which stock I need?

The information on your rifle is located on the left receiver rail.

And, where pray tell, will I find what stock fits what type of rifle?

The reason I posted that website is so you can identify the arsenal and the series of your rifle. A picture of the left side of the receiver, with all the markings will do, or you can figure it out yourself.
Post what you have, and I'll be happy to check my books and tell you what you need to look for. Where to look, I'll leave that up to you.
You didn't mention, has the rifle been "sporterized" and cut down? Depending on what you have, you might be better off buying a complete rifle.
