    some time ago--

I picked up a Pal knife that had a handle like the US Navy knife. That dull gray top and leather grip, but when I looked at the blade I figured it was not Navy. Blade is shaped like a Bowie type. It was in a nice leather sheath with rivets. No US markings of any kind. I bought it anyway as it was not expensive and in VG condition. Blade is stamped RH (PAL)-36, MADE IN USA, below that. Any info on it would be appreciated.

I believe the PAL RH35 [5" blade] was a Navy issue knife. It will fit in a Navy Mk1 scabbard. The RH36 Was also used buy Navy personal but may not have been a Navy contracted and issued item. I believe the Navy used the following Pal knives; RH34, 35, 36 and 37.

    Pm sent.
