    1845 USN Marked Fighting Blade

    Picked it up a few years back and can't seem to find much out about it as who made it or did it have a scabbard. Thanks for any help

      That is the USN Model 1841 Naval Cutlass,probably an Ames.The "RC" stamping is for Rufus Chandler a sub-inspector who was an inspector on Ames M1843 pistols in 1845 and inspected Ames M1841 Cutlasses 1843-1845.Not sure about the circled JL,the other stamping may be a rack number.
