M1917 Remington Bayonet-like new

I have an absolutely stunning bayonet for an M1917 Enfield. It is like new and the scabbard is just as nice.

It's a Remington dated 1918 U.S. and flaming bomb on the reverse. The Grips are nearly perfect even retaining some of the original maching marks.

The scabbard is still green and still has the inspectors stamps.

I'm thinking about selling this bayonet, but the original owner has first right of refusal. But I have no idea what about a fair price.

Any price estimates?

The scabbard is the early one with the leather holding the attaching hooks and the condition is nice; I'd say a decent price would be $175, but it could go for more if you were to put it on ebay, possibly $200-225.

It's also less common with the 1918 "mistake". The 1917 on the bayonet was the model number not the date, only a few were marked 1918 by mistake. With the early scabbard I would say it should go for $250+.

1917 Bayo's are not rare in that condition. Seems many were very used little especially Rem. made. If the original owner wants it then shouldn't what you paid him for it be considered?

It would be considered if it was that simple. As with most gun trades it was far from linear. I traged a Buck manufactured M9 bayonet for a Nice 1903 Springfield bayonet. The 03 bayonet was subsequently traded to my brother for an item long forgotten about 10 years ago. He traded the )3 bayonet for the 1917 bayonet. A couple of years ago I got the M1917 bayonet and rifle from my brother. He doesn't want either back. But the original owner of th ebayonet is interested in buying it back. That is why I am asking the esteemed members of this board for their opinion.

GADave ------ I see your point, did not realize it was that complicated! Then just ask what it is worth---125-150. Ask more, you can always go down, not up.
