Imperial German M1898/05 Bayonet Question

I recently came into possession of an M1898/05 bayonet. My question centers on the fact that it has almost no markiings on it. The only markings that I can find are the serial number on the scabbard and on the cross guard which are matching. The only other markings I can find are what look to be two Bavarian Cypher marks by the release pushbutton. I have checked the blade but there are no marks to indicate the maker stamp was ground off, likewise the leather frog is devoid of any markings. Is this normal? Everything I've seen so far indicates these markings should be there. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Its been "scrubbed" by another country, no doubt. And yes they can polish things up so it appears there were never any markings.
