    Short artillery sword?

A friend and I just took this short sword to a local dealer in antique firearms and militaria to see if he could provide any info. It came to the U.S. from Cuba via my friend's relative. No info. from family is available beyond this. The dealer said it has a French-inspired handle/hilt, but there are no markings on the blade. There is, however, a mark on the round bit of the hilt. Appears to be a stylized crown with two numerals. The dealer was leaning toward Spanish manufacture. Any help in ID on this sword would be much appreciated. TIA - Liam
