    Ww1 bolo

Johnny- Need a little more info on the bolo. The US produced a lot of bolo's pre-WW1. They are as follows: M1904 Hospital Corp Bolo, M1909 Bolo, M1910 Bolo, M1917/M1917 CT Bolo, and even an M1915 Bolo Bayonet for the M1903 Rifle. All have different and unique scabbards. I believe you can look up the particular bolo on line and probably, with some patience, find the scabbard on ebay. Good Luck! SKIP

I have one gramps used-it has a medical insignia on the scabbard.
He was a WW 1 Medic.

I don't have it here I don't know but it does have a sharp point not the 1917 with the double edge point it has a very sharp point and the blade is very thick and flat on the back. They was a round tip that looks just like it. Not sure of date. There is one on Ebay hope the link works it is listed as WW1 bolo knife

          It's a Model 1909 Bolo.

Sorry, I didn't answer the other part of your question about use. It's my understanding they were to be used by various Army units (not just the Medical Corps) including the Infantry for jungle use.
