    Received my CMP AFH

Greetings all. Received my CMP bayonet yesterday (Ordered 11/30/10). Very nice 10" (Uncut) M1 undated AFH. I was surprised that both the scabbard and bayonet arrived slathered in cosmoline. The CMP description "Used/servicable" is an understatement. Unless this has been arsenal refinished it's more like "Unissued." Spear point, parkerized finish showing no wear on the blade, sharpened edges, no finish wear inside the muzzle ring, minimal finish wear to the crosspiece and pommel, no wear/cracks/chips/etc. to scales. I'd say the only wear incurred was due to storage/handling. Scabbard in same condition. Again, very nice. Have to get out the turpentine now and wipe everything down to remove the cosmoline. May edit this later and add a picture(s). Anyone have an idea what year this was made?

    Cheers,

    Mark

Sounds like a nice'un. I don't known when the AFH run was but I have one dated 1943 on the blade.
