    French bayonet

My dad got me a bayonet from an antique store:

'Usine ole Steyr 1848' as best I can see on the spine of the blade. Overall about 25".

    What is it? Thanks.

Shooter, Steyr sounds kinda Austrian, or German to me, but not sure.

      Hi Shooter,

The info you are giving is too sketchy. A foto or two and a list of all the markings would help. I am sure my referance books would have the answer.

Neat, thanks. I may have to get the rifle to go with it...! Are they fun to shoot?
