    Sporterized Krag Value

    Gentlemen,
Some forums do not allow "value check" type threads, so if this is one of those forums, tell me and I'll delete this post.

I'm mainly a Garand collector, and do not know much about Krags. I was given this rifle, and eventually would like to sell it, but have no idea what value to place on a heavily sporterized Krag. I have attached a few pictures, so please let me know your thoughts when you have the chance.

Thank you in advance for your time.

I would say 2-300 hundred, altho I would not buy for any price (I'm strickly a collector). They ask more at gun shows but they don't sell fast and when they do sell I suspect price came down. Good for a second 'knock about' deer rifle. Ask more, can always come down!

Watch gunbroker and look at the prices for sporterized Krags. Mostly, they are way over priced and they don't sell. It's a rare sporter that sells for more than $350.00 and usually they are the ones that have had the least done to them and offer the prospect of "restoration".

Nice looking sporter you have there. That would be a sweet deer rifle.

I'm with Dave and Mark... You have a nice looking sporter there. I wouldn't expect more than 300 either... but if you did decide to keep the sporter, it should be a nice deer rifle, or a fun weekend shooter!

Thank you for your opinions, gentlemen. That's about what I was thinking. I have several deer rifles, so this one get's sold in the near future.
