    Side plate scope mount

I remember seeing on ebay once, a side plate for a Krag rifle that was made to take the Warner Swasey scope. Any of you know anything about such a rifle? Wish I'd bought it, had the money back then, can't recall what it brought.

A good welder and machinist could make something like that up using, say, a Leupold one-piece mount and a Krag side plate. I could do it in my shop, for sure. Might not be much of the case-hardening left when I was done, though.

Seeing as how we already had the 1903s, before the Warner Swasey came out, I'm guessing it was something done for the National Guard troops. 5MF might have uncovered something along the way. Speaking of him, is that book in print yet?
