    1907 sling

Art, who posts on the Gun Talk subforum a lot, put up a notice that Texas Leathercraft

is making reproduction 1907 slings with original USGI hardware.

I use military-type slings hunting and have had problems with a loy of the run-of-the-mill repro slings. Leather disintegrates or the hooks straighten out or the holes get torn out. The cost was $65 and shipping, but I expecct to see a quality piece of equipment,

I contacted them - him actually - yesterday and ordered one up. The guy really sounds like Texas! Calling wasn't much use but he called back from an email msg right away.

Also, Tango Yankee, the Gunbroker seller I got the Krag from was apologetic aBOUT the missing stacking swivel and said he would try to find one.

    Vintage matches, here I come.

I see an Idaho match listed on the CMP Competition Tracker. November 16th at the Lewis-Clark Wildlife Club, Lapwei, ID. Wow, that's a long drive from Pocatella!

There's supposed to be a Vintage Match in Michigan in October... I'll get the details and post. My brother-in-law Allen and I are looking to go!
