Be mindful of the old adage: You need a HIT. Consecutive numbers are a great talking point, but mean nothing.

Post had nothing to do with consecutive numbers. Only mentioned that the number shown was as close as he could get without hitting his number.

While there may have been no INTENT to make a connection, a consecutive number WAS quoted, hence my comment. Absent that number, I'd have said nothing.

I appreciate the education on consecutive numbers. For clarity and so as to not cause future confusion should I have explained that while the number I found would be considered as consecutive but would actually mean nothing?

It was not my intent to preach or to insult. But yes, that would probably help, because, believe it or not, there ARE people out there who ASSUME (AND who would try, very hard, to take money from a novice using that assumption) that if 24567 went up Kettle Hill, then so did 24566 and 24568. Now, they MAY have, but, "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades."

And we wonder why there is little participation.

I think most have gone to the KCA page - it is quite active (as is the "new Frasca trapdoor page" now run by John Spangler...

Yes, I do too, great sentimental value here, BUT, when you only have 1 or 2 people participating, as opposed to 40 or 50 (and ever-expanding) what do you do? You can hang around here, waiting for the bi-monthly crumb and starve to death, or have daily interaction at KCA. There is simply nothing doing re Krag or TDs on Jouster these days.
