I went to the Puyallup WAC gunshow and managed to keep myself "clean" of all foreign influences, when, with a few minutes left, saw a M1899 Krag carbine, $895.00 Had the handguard with the "hump" and was in the right serial range. It looked as if the stock and handguard had been refinished. Everything looked OK, but it had an 1896 rear sight, which I forgot to look for the "C", although I'm virtually positive it would have been missing.
