    SRS request for Winchester 1895

I have a rifle that has been with my family for many, many years- it is an 1895 Winchester carbine in 30-40 Army, SN 109396.

I don't know too much about the rifle besides the basic details, any information is appreciated.

    thanks,
    Tim

The SRS books only have fragmentary information on arms with U.S.military and associated usage.Given that your 95 was manufactured in 1915 it is highly unlikely it would even be listed.Best source is the Cody Firearms Museum which holds the WRA records.

You might also go to Gunboards - check on the Winchester forum. If you can post pictures they might be able to tell you more.

Thanks for the advice, I will search around and see if I can find anything. Below is a picture of it- on the other side it has the saddle ring.
