    Gate discussion

The excellent discussion about gates in the "New to Me" thread kind of hijacked that thread.

If I understand things correctly this would be an "early 92" gate and I'm basing that on the southwest corner of the gate (lower left hand corner of the gate) where it has an angle.

but wait a minute... on further examination maybe I have a 96 gate here?

Thanks for the tutelage in advance.

I think in the other topic discussion the 'slope' being referred to is the top/rear of the gate...behind the thumb-piece....

Yeah, I feel kinda dumb. I gathered that after looking at my rifles from the top.

All three of my 92/96s have 96 gates. I think it was something oft replaced during rebuild, whether it needed to be or not.
