Thanks Dick, was hoping for a hit. Nice rifle in any case with excellent bore. Stock appears to have been lightly sanded many years ago, no cartouches visible and it has a high quality repro handguard. Metal finish is about 30% blue except for the trigger guard which retains about 95% bright blue so that may be a replacement. I am tempted to strip and re oil the stock and handguard so the wood matches in color. I usually leave the old rifles unmolested but since there are no markings remaining anyone see a "sin" in doing this? Thanks.Comment
