Correct Finish for 1902 rear sight base

I'm restoring a Krag and have it all completed accept for the rear sight base for the 1902 rear sight. Was it rust blued, nitre blued, or oil blackened?

    Thanks

'Shawn': Appearance kind of depends on period - 1. original finish or 2. (pre-WW1) refinish. I believe Springfield referred to the sight base finish as "browned". The (1)-original finish has lots of subtle differences in the coloring of the different sight components. Some of the (2)-refinished sights have a pretty homogeneous and obvious 're-blued' color - IMHO

(Attached are some photos of original finish 1902 sights to show colors).

Ok thanks. Yes I got all the different sight components properly colored I just couldn't find the information for the base.
