    Interesting to see in a Swiss museum, and labeled as a repetiergewahr 1889. Wonder what caliber it is? The Swiss cartridge should work good in a 6.5x55 Krag action.

      Seeing the 89 mauser next to it, it appears these may have been trials rifles. If we'd not lost Guisan, I bet he'd know.

        I may just have to spend some time in Europe and do an extended vacation ala Hemingway and visit the European gun museums. Yes, the loss of Guisan will be felt for years until the next Guisan arrives.
