    Sling info

I forget who I heard it from or where I read it but I think it was on this forum. Do any of you guys have an example of the sling for the 1895 Winchester Musket? I want to get a reproduction sling made for my rifle.

    Best regards

I'm somewhat sure that it was the same sling used with the Lee-Navy, which would make sense since both were in production at Winchester at the same time. There is a reproduction available from S & S Firearms of the Lee-Navy sling.

Hmmmmm. I will have to dig out my Win-Lee sling and try to put it on the musket when it comes back. I have a vague memory of doing that once before but a moderate case of CRS is in the way. Seems to me that the lee sling was a quarter inch wider than the front sling swivel on the musket. Maybe it was boozy dream or something.
