    Underwood M1 carbine.

I have this one for a long time also. It seems like I am the kind that likes Carbines, US 1911's and Garands.
This Underwood I have had apart and it is all as it should be for the Ser.# range. 2601xxx, 1-44. Also has a S stamped receiver.DSCN1080.jpgDSCN1081.jpgDSCN1082.jpgDSCN1083.jpgDSCN1085.jpg Thanks for looking.

You sure have a nice Underwood carbine. Looks to be complete and original as it was made. The S, is it on the bevel of the receiver? If so it would be a receiver made for Underwood by United Shoe Machinery Co. Four sub-contractors were used by Underwood in making close to a 25% of their receiver production.

        Tuna:
Yes the S is in the bevel of the receiver. Thanks for the reply.
I wish I could do better picts. I know they are not very good.
