    S&CMarking M1 Carbine Stock??

    Hi,

I was at a local shop and looked at an M1 Carbine for sale. The carbine was an Inland looked run of the mill but the stock was marked S&C with flaming bomb in sling well. Anything special? Real, fake or what? TIA.....

Sprague and Carleton in New Hampshire made stocks for IBM. Were the first to make Birch stocks for use on carbines. There should be a B after the SC but it may be hard to see. Real stock nothing special about them other then being Birch.

Isn't exactly unusual to find an Inland Carbine with an IBM stock. Weapons techs, then or now, didn't care who made what part they put on during a rebuild. Might have been put on by "some guy" too.
      Should be 'SC-B' too.
