A Couple Of M1 Carbine Stocks

I ran across a couple of stocks and wondered if anyone has seen them before, or has any knowledge to share.

One looks like a WW2 M1 stock, but wasn't quite finished and was turned into something else.

The whole top portion has been milled off. No hole for buttplate screw. No band spring hole or cut out. No cut out for recoil plate. No markings anywhere except on the bottom of the pistol grip. Those appear to be a stamp the reads:

    PAT. PEND.
    EMERGENCY
    EQUIPMENT ??
    GRAND RAPIDS
    MICHIGAN

The other stock is just an M2 "potbelly" with a stamp on the right side that I have never seen. No other markings. Doesn't appear to be an S.A. stock. The stamp is BAP in a circle.

    Thanks, Greg V

Set up for a camera with a long lens. I've seen several.
