Bought a M1 Carbine today, QHMC

An old friend had started selling off bits and pieces of his gun collection over the past two years. I had already bought a Colt revolver, and a couple K98k Mausers from him.

Talked to him last week and he mentioned that he has his M1 Carbine up for sale. I've been looking for one to mount my M3 Sniperscope on, so I told him I was interested.

Well, long story short, it was not suitable or mounting the M3 scope on, but I bought it anayway.

It is a 18814xx range Quality hardware. It has a buffalo Arms barrel dated 8-43.

    other parts are:

UI marked front band with flat swivel

    2 rivet handguard not marked

oval cut high wood buttstock, no P proof but has crossed cannon on right side just in front of sling cut.

flip 2 position rear sight, block S marked

    Recoil tube of course
    UN marked flat bolt

    DA-Q slide

    Q-NL triggerguard

    EP-Q mag catch

    GT-O or Q hammer

That's all I can find or now. The rifle appears to be original finish, no sign of buffing or re-park

Got 3 15 rd mags with it marked SW and 2 of the QU.

Mag pouch kakhi marked RUBON K.C. 1943

Appears mostly original to these untrained eyes.

    Comments welcome.
Enfield, everything else is just a rifle. Unless it's a Garand.

Long pig, it's what's for Dinner!

You don't mention the amount it cost so without knowing I have no idea. It does sound like a nice carbine though and being I have always liked carbines I give it a thumbs up. Pictures help.
