I met a guy that worked for IBM retired from there and wanted an IBM carbine an it had to look new. He offered me 2K for an original IBM 15 years ago. I think it is an employ thing maybe.

It has to be Johnny. I used to live near the Research Park near Cary NC, and the IBM employees were really hot after the IBM carbines at the shows. Most didn't have a clue to correctness as long as the receiver was marked IBM they wanted it. If they are not IBM employees, then I wonder where these people are when I try to sell something.

Yes, but over $3000 for a rebuild??? I'd be happy to get that for my IBM/AO/NPM!
