    M-1 Carbine sling ?

What do I have here ? Old, New ? I'm having difficulty reading the stamping on this sling
but as best I can tell it is stamped "MRI, DEC 1941" It measures 48 inches long by one inch
    wide.

    All help appreciated

    Good Shooting

They didn't MRT in Dec., 41. It has to be 51. And the D-tips more or less comfirm that.

The oilers were made by International Silver ( IS ) and were used by all of the carbine makers. The II is an early one made for Inland by the same company before the IS became standard.

MRT means mildew resistant treatment and the date is when it was treated.

That is a very nice Korean war sling which is becoming scarce like WWII. The two wars were less than five years apart and it amazes me that the govt had to make more canvas for Korea with tons of WWI and WWII canvas stored in warehouses all over the world.
