    GB Winchester Carbine

    http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=364237650

    Hello,
I was thinking of bidding on this Winchester Carbine and I want to know:
    1. Does it look all original as stated?
    2. What is a fair/reasonable price for it?

The seller guarantees it to be all Winchester and all correct. They did not Guarantee it to be all original! The believe it to be they say. I would want to see a pic of the dogleg hammer strike mark. The stock looks worn more than the metal the front sight looks well worn but not the barrel. Stock looks sanded on the cartouche side. I would really check out the cartouche it is too crisp for a sanded stock. just a few things that I noticed.

      Thanks for the advice.
I think I am gonna steer clear.
These carbines are a mine field.
      Too many fakes and repros.
It sucks that you have to worry about that stuff when you are just looking for an honest piece.

It is an improper restoration, definitely not unaltered or un-restored. Worth the sum of the parts.

Wow, that's pretty but way out of my price range. I'd have to see it first hand to make any kind of judgment.

Barrel and stock to early for serial number. Bolt's finish is rather dull and dark, most WRA early flat bolts possessed a very fine royal blue finish. The assembly also has a Saginaw front sight. Stay away from this one.

Looks nice but way too much money for that.

Compare the wear on parts. Some looked well worn and others looked like they just came out of the factory. Definately not all original.
