    USGI Carbine Ammo

Today I had a chance to look over a collection of guns and related items. Among the stacks of various ammunition were two .50 caliber ammo cans containing 1080 rounds of Lake City .30 Carbine ball in bandoleers. The cans were dated 1950. What would something like this be worth? The ammo has been well stored.

more like $550.00 per can at today's ammo prices. I have seen 600 rnd spam cam cans go for 400.00

Short of taking advantage of some poor widow woman it's unlikely to see that kind of pricing in the current ammo market even for surplus.

Agreed with others, now its pretty much $500+ ish a can for it. CMP was selling carbine last year in boxes (not strippers/bando's) and I believe it was $0.40 per round. At $250-$300 a can of well stored USGI LC ammo, I would pay that at the drop of a hat!
