Manufacture date on an early Winchester M! carbine

Good morning, I've recently acquired an early date Winchester carbine. Serial # is 1015XXX.
Gun is in good shape, with all of the exterior parts marked W.
Can anyone tell me the month and year of manufacture? Note- the barrel is dated 2/43.
    Thanks in advance!

Based on the partial serial number, 1015xxx receivers were produced Dec. 24-30, 1942. This is just the date that the receiver was produced and not the date of assembly. John

Maybe about the time of your barrel date as your serial number falls into a block of numbers ESTIMATED at December 1942. So, maybe your receiver sat around long enough for the February '43 barrel.

It was not uncommon for a receiver to be serial numbered well before being assembled and sometimes months later. Your barrel is original to the receiver and your carbine was made in the February 1943 time frame.

          Thank you!

Thanks, I wasn't sure with the date of the receiver versus the barrel date.
