    WW2 Carbine Picture

I think the forum members might enjoy this shot from the past.
While visiting my parents last week my father showed me this picture, which I had never seen before. It was taken at the end of 1944 right before he finished basic training, and was shipped off to Italy.
He also told me that towards the end of basic training he had ended up with a carbine that was not serial numbered assigned to him. He liked the carbine so much, and thought he could get away with it, that he had broken it down into two box's and was ready to ship it home, until he found out how severe the penalties were for "taking" firearms.
Even 19 year old kids who had never fired a gun like M1 Carbines!
