    Stock stamp A.O.E. on carbine

Stamped A.O.S. on stock left side of stock flat below rearsite. I have never seen this letter series before. Thanks in advance!

I have AOG and AOW on an 03 Springfield scant stock made to fit only an 03. No one has been able to say with definity what it means.

Some say it's Annitson Ordnance depot with the last letter denoting the inspector. Others say it was some overseas depot. Unicorn for sure.

There is an "AOZ" stamped on the stock of a Garand I received from the CMP. There is no "P" mark on the stock. I have never found out the meaning of AOZ.

          AO stamps

I thought the AO was Anniston Ordnance Depot and the then the initial of the inspector P1010012_0012_012.jpg
