    M1 Garand barrel Identification

I have a garand with a 308 barrel . Not sure about the marking on the top of the barrel so I am trying to get more info on those markings.

Thanks for any info you can supply me on this.

By the way its on a 4.2 mil JLG range gun

Never seen anything like it. The SA 22572 could be; Feb. 25 1972. But then, there is also a big 1955 above that. 4.2's did get some "other" contract barrels. There were Marlin barrels(I had one on a 4.2).

The barrel is a SA barrel,Revision #45,steel vendor "AI".
If the barrel is .308 it is probably an insert placed in the barrel,
experimentally to be followed ,the other markings ,to me,
seem to be SA file numbers.
      respectfully submitted

By the way it does have a barrel date on the side in the correct location. S-A-6-52
