Does anyone have an idea where I might be able to get a brass ID that the Danes put on the bottom of the pistol grip on a M1? I fixed up the stock that came on my CMP Danish M1 with VAR bbl. but that hole in the bottom of the pistol grip bugs me. The stock still isn't great, but it's stamped with the rifle's serial no. so I'll keep it. The rifle itself has been parked, accurized and rests in a Boyd's stock. Great shooter - just not cheap to shoot.

At the high point of Danish M1 importation Lothar Young offered reproduction disks. Others have used brass washers, Danish Coins (10 ore ?) or U.S. dimes to fill the hole.

Back in the days of the CMP Danish returns, there was a lot of talk of guys obtaining Danish coins and putting them in the hole. I left the hole in my Winchester stock empty. Like yours, my Winchester with VAR barrel is a great shooter!Comment

Lothar Young still makes the stock ID discs - I just ordered one. $7.00 icnl. disc, screw and postage. A bargain these days I think. Here is the link:
