    M-14 op rod installation tool.

Another extremely rare device made by Alpha Chase Brass in Waterburey CT.

This is a brass deadblow M-14 operating guide installation tool. Predates it's design purpose by almost a hundred years. Talk about pre-design and forward thinking. Note the blasted matt finish. Eliminates unwanted reflections when installing op rod guides by candlelight. A real sight saver.

Is this a rare collectable tool like the one you showed on the Guntalk Forum?

Came from the same part of the workshop and old coal heating appliance. Just worked out perfect for op rod guide installs.

I couldn't afford a brass tool as nice as this so I opted for a piece of galvanized 1" steel pipe with a cap on the end. It works perfectly too. I also use a piece of 1 1/4" pipe to install the op rod guide on heavy barrels. Both are 17" long.
